A funny thing happened to me on the way to the end of my life.

Yes, indeed a funny thing has happened and is happening as we speak on my way to the end of my life. (which hopefully won’t be for a VERY long time.)
I have had an “Ah Ha!” moment as Oprah says it.
I pondered the concept of multi-dimensional existences along the concept of the superstring theory and how each subsequent dimension after dimension “0″ was influenced and contained all the prior knowledge and language. If there is a 10 dimensional multiverse, then the very top dimension contains all the knowledge and languages of all the lower dimensions of all the possibilities, existences, chances, timelines. Everything.
Which means that the 10th dimension would be G-d, no? If G-d is all knowing and omnipotent, couldn’t we concluded within the construct of theoretical hypothesis that this would be true?
Something to think about on your Saturday morning.

No it’s not Darth Vader. No, it is not Unicron, the world devourer from the original Transformer cartoon movie. No, it’s not G-d, the overlord of the known universe. Think bigger, yet Much Much smaller in scale.
It is Captain Hazel Murphy! Do not look directly into his eyes. Total paralysis has been known to suddenly happen.
It is best viewing the “Murphy Eye” with a cardboard box and facing the opposite direction. Carefully poke a pinhole into the cardboard box and voila you have a pinhole Murphy Box for viewing this dangerous and potentially deadly phenomenon.
Indeed…the force is strong with this one…

Talk about being completely out of it…

I don’t even know where to begin. I have been so…I don’t even know the right word to use, but beyond out of it. I’m not in a funk. I’m not depressed. I have been working my ass off…that’s for sure! It just seems as if no matter how effing hard I try, no matter how much effort I put into something…there always seems to be something I am missing. When I use the word missing…don’t get it confused with longing or wanting kind of missing. The missing I speak of is the absence or void of some order. My life has absolutely no order to it and it’s frustrating. I honestly do plan to a certain degree for that particular day, but something always arises that trumps whatever it was that I had planned. I could have 30 planned phone calls on a particular day and a my boss will call and say I have to change what I am focusing on to something else. I have no problem with this at all. It’s just that when I shift gears I get discombobulated and lose track of time/space/universe everything goes up in the air in terms of priorities.
People have been telling me to go to bed earlier…BAAHUMBUG to that! I say! I’m a night guy. I can’t go to bed early.
How does one organize an entire day of research, phone calling, staying in touch with friends, having alone time with the Mrs., etc. Seriously, how the FUCK do people do it? I just can’t fathom it. So many of my friends have stopped calling me because they know I never call them back. It’s not that I don’t WANT to, it’s because I forget to call them back. If I take the time to call them back…I’ll forget what I was going to do at that moment. Forget picking calls up. I never answer my phone anymore. It’s insane! I get distracted so easily that I will literally forget WTF I was just doing. I could NEVER be a waiter or work in retail.
I’ve always been told focus on your positives and be aware of your negatives. Well my positives are beyond the sky’s limits and my hinderances are well…what I am venting about.
There has to be a way for me to focus and stay on point.
People have told me make lists…but what the fuck good are lists if you have a desk full of lists from days before that never got fulfilled to begin with? I mean I take notes after notes after notes. I even make notes to remind me of other notes that remind me of meetings or call I have to make and STILL I don’t get everything done. Not even close to it.
I’m not expecting to complete everything that I set forth for any particular day, but can you imagine getting bombarded with calls, emails, twitter, facebook, blah, blah, blah…after awhile you shutdown for all the overload. I really try to keep it simple. I’m starting to use our new CRM system…but the only thing is I now need time to import all of my business cards that I have acquired over time and then create a schedule to call and email these people and do this and do that.
All of this takes time! Time I don’t have NOW. When will I have time to do all of this?
Seriously, there HAS to be an easier way. Has to be!
I mean I could hire an assistant, but with what money am I going to pay him or her? It all falls back on me. I could spend 1 hour in the AM inputting data and then eat breakfast, etc… Not going to work. I already spend an hour in the AM filtering through the 10,000 tweets in my Outlook box from the night before…searching for information amid a sea of SPAM. Always looking for the new thing and a new client.
How the FUCK can I possibly get any of this stuff done? Saturdays + Sundays are OFF LIMITS. My wife screams at me when I am on the computer on the weekends and for good reason! I’m on the computer all the time and ironically I never spend it on either her or myself.
Now that is IRONY. I have the World at my fingertips and I am doing WORK all day and night long. I’m hustling like crazy to get some movement going with my job and stuff. I never have any time to write like I used to, which saddens me a bit.
There has to be a way to balance personal life with work life.
The CRM is going to help, but after that I am going to need a freakin’ life coach or something. lol
Maybe I need to shorten my conversations. Maybe I need to read more intently. Maybe I need a freakin’ hearing aid. Maybe I’m taking on more than I can chew. Maybe I’m the World’s worst organizer. Maybe I can complain some more and then everything will fit into a dysfunctional dystopia. Maybe not.
How do CEOs and bigwigs do it? Yeah, I know they have secretaries that tell them to do everything. I don’t have that luxury.
Logic would dictate create a schedule and try to live as close to that as possible. ERRRRRRRRRRRR…not going to happen. What usually happens is that I will think about making a schedule and not know what the fuck to put into that schedule. lol Talk about a catch 22. Or, I’ll begin to make this schedule and I’ll get a call of which I do not answer. Then get another call and another. All from different people…while I’m trying to focus on myself for just a freakin’ moment to catch my breathe and organize. The next thing I look up at the clock and it’s 7:00PM. WTF!?!?!?!
I’m besides myself. I really am. I really don’t know how much more candid I can be without jumpng through the screen and smacking you in the face with complaint after complaint. It’s a miracle you made it this far in my rant. lol.
I need to be better at a lot of things in life…don’t we all? I know I am not alone. I know there are people out there looking at themselves in the mirror and shake their heads and say…how the eff am I going to do this? They do it somehow. If anyone has any tips or pointers, please feel free to reply to this post or email me.
Please don’t tell me to write stuff down…MORE. (Trust me I write PLENTY down.) Please don’t tell me to HIRE someone. (I don’t have any money.) Please don’t SUGGEST that I work Saturday + Sunday. (NOT GOING TO HAPPEN PEOPLE.)
I need real advice and REAL perspective. If this blog isn’t a cry for help I don’t know what is…
Talk about being completely out of it…

Artist Profile: James Turrell (1943-)

James Turrell
Location: Los Angeles, California
James Turrell is an artist that uses light and space to define his work, literally. He is best known for, Roden Crater, a work in progress since 1972. It is located in outside of Flagstaff, Arizona. Turrell is transforming this large mound of rock into an incredible observatory that does not require any instruments what-so-ever to view celestial occurrences in the sky. Many of his other works enclose the viewer in mathematical spaces order to control their perception of light. One of his skyscapes can fit up to 15 people. Viewing participants sit towards the inner borders of the space on benches to view the sky above through a gigantic opening in the roof. Also, he creates light tunnels and light projections that give the illusion of form and shape. It almost seems as if the light has mass and weight. It is only light.

Personal Memories of James Turrell:
There is something so incredibly calming and organic about Turrell’s light. I can’t help but feel completely mesmorized by the light. If you ever have the unique opportunity to experience one of his works, you will be moved. I, personally was moved to tears the first time I saw one of his neon light tunnel works. One of the works I saw were similar to this image:
In this image, Turrell has closed off part of the room and built up a facade wall, leaving open only a rectangle with no edges. On the inside of that wall, Turrell has placed neon lights around the inner edges to create a bizarre illusion that there is a rectangle painting of solid color suspended on the wall. The viewer is invited to break that invisible barrier and try to feel into the light sculpture.
It was so unbelievably moving. I still have yet to see something that is as simple and beautiful as this.
It’s light. That’s it and that’s all.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Space: Have we been miscalculating the amount of stars in any given Galaxy?
Posted on | October 17, 2009 | No Comments
I think we all can share at least one collective moment in our lives; the moment when we all looked up into the night sky and gazed in awe at our universe peering back at us. For many the actual counting of stars quickly becomes a chore as there are more stars in the night sky as there are grains of sand on any given beach on Earth.
When counting “stars” we most likely counting an entire galaxy of stars or quite possibly 1 absolutely gigantic star. The diagram on the side, (from http://nasa.gov), is a perfect example of how we can mistake or miscount the proportions of stars above to a particular galaxy.
According to the data from, NASA’s Galaxy Evolution Explorer spacecraft and the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile have shown that, in some cases, there can be as many as four times more small stars compared to large ones.
Incredible.
Above we see thousands and thousands of smaller yellow(ish) stars next to 1 gigantic blue monster of a star that pales in the comparision of some of the largest stars in the entire known universe. (talk about feeling small. eh?) The bright blue stars are roughly 20 times the size of our own sun, with a mass and gravity that is beyond any human comprehension! The old way for calculating the amount of stars in a galaxy would be 500 small stars to 1 huge star. With new analysis, that number has grown by a factor of 4, meaning that for every 1 giant star there are 2,000 smaller ones. Pretty wild and completely inconceivably huge in terms of relative scale to a man.

Space: Hubble finds “tenth planet”?
Posted on | October 17, 2009 | No Comments
There is an old saying, “In Space, no one can hear you scream.” Right now, I think the entire universe can hear me screaming the world’s loudest, “YES!”
We all know that there are 9, I mean 8 planets in our solar system. (Sorry Pluto…you’re just a Trans-Neptunian Object now.) In the past decade there have been some AMAZING discoveries about our local system that we reside within. Pluto not being a plent being one of them because of it’s odd orbit and diminutive size. But did you know there have been countless other “plutoids” as they are commonly referred to in our solar system?
One section that has been increasingly of greater and greater importance has been the Kuiper Belt.
The Kuiper Belt is a vast virtually empty area past the gaseous giant Neptune. Or at least we all thought. Since the Pluto’s discovery in the middle of 20th Century, many have wondered what else is out there. Well turns out…a hell of a lot of stuff.
As you can see in this image there have been more than a few “plutoids” discovered. (A plutiod is a planet like object that does not have it own unique orbit around the sun that is close to a complete circle. It has mass and gravity, but it is not large enough to be considered a “PLANET” by a strict definition that was deliniated a few years back, which unfortunately for Pluto, disqualified it as a “PLANET”.
What is interesting about these Trans-Neptunian Objects, or “plutoids” is that they do appear to be like full planets. One of the most recent discoveries has been of the TNO of “Xena”. (No not the Warrior Princess. lol) Xena is roughly half the size of the United States in diameter at an amazing 1,490 miles across. (give or take 60 miles or so.) Oh yeah, it’s 10 BA BA BILLION miles away.
Pack your bags kids we’re going to “Xena” for the summer…of 2070. Probably would take that long to get out there at current propulsion capabilities.
Would we consider this TNO as a full fledge planet? Most likely not given that it’s lack of a substantial iron core and thus a weak electromagnetic gravitational pull. The Kuiper Belt is bizarre place where the average temperatures would most likely hover in the just above absolute zero area. The amount of light and heat from the sun at that range would never amount to much in regards to any sustainable life ever.
I always find this kind of discovery so completely amazing that I just have to post about it. Granted the article I am referring to was written a few years back. I find it fascinating now…and that is the important thing to me.
Life as we know it is something of a mystery and everyday I honestly wonder how is it possible that we exist against such improbable odds.
So you might be wondering shouldn’t the title be called, “The Ninth Planet, no for real this time.” I wonder that myself.
Here is the link to original article I was referring to: Planet Xena
